FAQs

What is the mission of NCCM?

The mission of the Huck Boyd National Center for Community Media is to serve and strengthen the local newspapers, radio stations, cable systems and other media that play a key role in the survival and revitalization of America's small towns.

The Center, in the A. Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Kansas State University,  was founded in 1990.

The Center affirms the fact that community and communication are inseparable; you cannot have community without communication. We seek to sustain and enhance the positive qualities of life found in small cities throughout America by nurturing and strengthening community media.
